Seems to be a spruced up Ford Capri Mark I. With round headlights it dates from before the Mark I facelift, so produced between 1969-1972 at Dagenham, England.

Isn't an X reg to young to be a MK1?

Added by Andrew Wright on 01 October 2009.
X reg suggests on the road in 1981-82... you're right there. That makes it a mark 3 produced between 77-86... and means it doesn't belong on this site...
I'll take it of later today :)

Hold on Sir!! Please don't take this car off the site. It's as much a classic as the older ones. Here in the UK, we have a high proportion of Modern Classics from the eighties, like this Capri.
Cars from this era are just as Historically important as some of the earlier ones (how often do you see a Capri on the UK's roads these days?) Those Cars from the 70's 80's and even the 90's have a high following in this Country.
Every decade's Cars have their own generation of enthusiasts, Cars of the 80's are popular with todays younger folk who will carry this wonderful hobby of ours forward when we can't.
Please don't dissmiss post 1970's Cars, they are a continuation of a glourious History of Motoring.

OK I'll watch the age next time, but I class the Capri as a classic, and the nicest car British Ford ever built.

Hi Chris,
I appreciate your view and the fact that newer cars are 'historically important'. But I have to draw a line somewhere...
The site's name refers to 'classic' as time related, in this case 25 years must have past after production has ceased. So this Mark III is welcome in two years time, and 'younger' folk can than enjoy this hobby (by the way how old do you think I am? - certainly good for another 25 years of this :)
I am not excluding post 1970's cars, any car of which production stopped in 1984 at the latest is welcome.... 1985 next year, and so on.
The criterium for cars to appear on this site is not based on popularity or rarity of a car as that would be subjective and depended on the mood of the editor.

Andrew, I agree that the Capri is a classic... from a personal point of view. So waiting for a mark I or II for now...

I think you'll have a long wait mate, but I'll try and not on a rally field either.
