1901 Payne & Bates Godiva Dos-a-Dos - BWK 1
Another unusual and short lived makers model on display was this 7hp 2 cylinder Payne and Bates Godiva. The Dod-a-Dos stands for Back to Back referring to the seating arrangement which was quite common on early cars were the engine was located under the seats with direct belt drive to the rear wheels. Payne and Bates was a Coventry Company which closed within a very short period.
